FAIR OF LANGUAGES

Today, the Portuguese teachers Rocío and Estrella and the English teacher Jose have been to Villa Real de Santo Antonio to visit the Fair of Languages which is yearly celebrated. There, teachers have learnt about the different projects that are being carried out in our neighbouring country, not only in English but also in Spanish and some other languages. Besides, we have been able to get information about European scholarships and projects for students of any age. After that, we have created a poster in our high school titled "Travel through Europe" for students to get the information they like.

FERIA DE LAS LENGUAS

Hoy, las profesoras de portugués Rocío y Estrella y el profesor de inglés Jose han estado en Villa Real de Santo Antonio para visitar la Feria de las Lenguas que se celebra anualmente. Allí, los profesores han podido aprender sobre los diferentes proyectos que se llevan a cabo en nuestro país vecino, no solo en inglés sino también en español y algún que otro idioma. Además, hemos podido obtener información sobre becas y proyectos europeos para alumnos de todas las edades. Tras ello, hemos creado un mural titulado "Viaja por Europa" de donde los alumnos pueden obtener la información que más les guste.

Good bye to our auxiliars!

We are so sad today because we have to say good bye to Nina and Laura. They have been wonderful Language Assistants in our high school and we have learnt a lot with them. We will miss you so much!!

 

Hoy estamos tristes porque tenemos que decir adiós a nuestras auxiliares Nina y Laura. Han sido unas increíbles auxiliares de conversación para nuestro instituto y hemos aprendido mucho con ellas. ¡Os echaremos de menos!

Welcome to our High School!

Today, students from four of the primary schools in Lepe have visited our High School to learn about everyhing they will find the coming year -Tránsito-. They have visited the differents stands of the subjects they will have and participated in the activities. As for the Foreign Languages Department, they were presented our Bilingual Trivial, some games, flags and many other things they will learn with in their language classes. Hope you enjoy it!

 Hoy, alumnos de cuatro de los coles de primaria de Lepe nos han visitado en nuestro instituto para aprender sobre lo que les espera el año que viene -Tránsito-. Han visitado los distintos stands de las asignaturas que van a tener y han participado en las actividades. Desde el Departamento de Idiomas, les hemos presentado nuestro Trivial Bilingüe, algunos juegos, banderas y otras cosas con las que aprenderán en las clases de idiomas. ¡Esperamos que os guste!

Amazing creations!!

As we can see in this post, students have created two big posters in their bilingual classes. 

One of them is a periodic table which has been created by students in 4ºESO in the subject of Chemistry. The elements can be taken out of their boxes and we can read information about their origin, characteristics, present applications and curiosities.

The other poster has been created by students in 1ºBach. in the subject of Philosophy. It's an interactive timeline in which we can learn about Philosophy throughout History together with philosophers.

Como podemos ver en esta publicación, los alumnos han creado dos grandes murales en sus clases bilingües.

Uno de ellos es una tabla periódica que ha sido creada por alumnos de 4ºESO en la asignatura de química. Los elementos se pueden sacar de su caja y podemos leer información sobre su origen, características, usos en el presente y curiosidades.

El otro mural ha sido creado por alumnos de 1ºBach. en la asignatura de filosofía. Es una línea temporal interactiva en la que podemos aprender sobre filosofía a lo largo de la historia así como sobre filósofos.

Neolithic and Paleolithic Designs

Paleolithic and Neolithic Eras as a Muse

In their art class, the students of 2º ESO have hand-crafted luggages and other means of transportation in consideration of the Paleolithic and Neolithic Era. These luggages consist of (drawings of) clothing made from animal hides and furs. Their transportation during these eras were horses and camels, so the students designed these animals with great skill using papier mâché. 

En su clase de plástica, los alumnos de 2º ESO crearon unas maletas y unos medios de transporte con respecto a los periodos paleolítico y neolítico. Estos equipajes consisten en (dibujos de) la ropa hecha de pieles y cueros de animales. Su transporte durante estas épocas fueron caballos y camellos, por lo que los estudiantes diseñaron estos animales con gran habilidad utilizando papel maché. 

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Jr.

The students of 4ESO spent some time researching the renowned civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr. and his impact on modern day America. They created educational posters that are both innovative and informational. The Students learned about the influence of peaceful protesting and how it affected The United States during the late 1960s and how it continues on today. This learning took place during the MLK federal holiday as a recognition of its importance. 

Los alumnos de 4ESO han investigado al renombrado activista de los derechos civiles Martin Luther King Jr. y su impacto en los Estados Unidos que todavía vemos hoy en día. Crearon carteles educativos que son tan innovadores como informativos. Los estudiantes aprendieron sobre la influencia de las protestas pacíficas y cómo afectaron a los Estados Unidos a finales de la década de 1960 y cómo continúan hoy. Esta tarea tuvo lugar durante la conmemoración de MLK como reconocimiento a su importancia.

Combating Climate Change

Climate Change

The students of 1ESO under the instruction of their biology professor, Alba, have created posters that raise awareness of the importance of maintaining the well-being of our planet. Raising awareness is essential for the future; passing this wisdom down to our students is quintessential as they are our future. As the students were designing the posters, they discussed ways in which to combat climate change in their day-to-day lives. They also discussed how to combat this issue both on local and international scales. 

El alumnado de 1ESO junto con Alba, la profesora de biología, ha creado estos pósters sobre el reciclaje y mantenimiento de nuestro planeta. Crear conciencia es esencial para nuestro futuro; pasar esta sabiduría a los alumnos es lo más importante porque son nuestro futuro. Mientras crearon los pósters, debatieron maneras de cómo combatir el cambio climático en su propio día. También sobre cómo lo podemos combatir en nuestra sociedad, desde una escala local a una internacional.
